AI Platform Engineer, Director

## About the Role BlackRock is seeking a Director of AI Platform Engineering to provide technical and strategic leadership within the Aladdin AI Engineering organization. You will set the technical vision and architecture for Aladdin's AI platform, including LLM-powered and agentic AI systems. ## Responsibilities - Set the technical vision and architecture for Aladdin's AI platform - Lead the design of scalable AI/ML platform services, APIs, and microservices - Establish and enforce engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices across AI platform teams - Ensure AI solutions are built with strong governance, observability, resilience, and responsible AI considerations - Lead teams building AI-driven platforms and applications leveraging LLMs and AI Agents ## Requirements - 10+ years of software engineering experience including leadership of distributed systems - Proven experience leading teams building AI-driven platforms with LLMs and agentic AI architectures - Proficiency in Java and Python - Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), Docker/Kubernetes - Familiarity with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, Google Agent Development Kit) - Experience with vector databases and scalable APIs/microservices - Understanding of responsible AI principles and governance in regulated environments - Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field
